[Tried & Tested] Turning Electric With Manic Panic

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

So, after a month odd of hair washing, my "Dark Forest" hair has faded to this pastel turquoise. I miss my colours and so here's another change to my hair...

This time round I have the Rockabilly Blue (Amplified), Purple Haze (Amplified) and Electric Lizard to play with. I'm infatuated with the neon Electric Lizard the moment I was introduced to Manic Panic. So I insisted on having this colour this time round. Hehehehe...

See how beautiful the colour is?! I had my hair coloured in sections, that's why I turned into this robot hair of aluminium foils. It took around 2 hours to get the hair fully coloured and whilst waiting for the hair colour to seep in, might as well "blow" some bubble...

After half a day of sitting in the salon, my hair is finally done! Electric Lizard and Purple Haze in the top, with a little Rockabilly Blue peeking from underneath. My hairstylist even layered my hair, so that I can show off all those colours. I totally dig this new hair colour! What about you?

Thank you 77th Street for the lovely colours. You can get Manic Panic hair colours online at www.77thstreet.com and all 77th Street outlets.

Manic Panic has been a leading semi-permanent hair color since 1977 and many celebrities, models and stylists have been using their colours! Their famous VEGAN formula not only colors but conditions the hair. Available 30 vibrant rainbow shades of MANIC PANIC HIGH VOLTAGE "CLASSIC" CREAM HAIR COLORS, with some that glow under black light!

MANIC PANIC AMPLIFIED Cream Formula is a stronger, longer lasting formula. AMPLIFIED Cream Formula lasts 30% longer. You can get the same fantastic VEGAN ingredients as the CLASSIC FORMULA with longer lasting colours. My hairstylist love the 4oz squeeze bottles as they are easier to dispense and colour the hair as she holds on to the aluminium foils.

[Makeup Tutorial] Last Minute Halloween Looks

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

I have been trying out looks for Halloween and these are some simple ones, that you can do within an hour or less. More for the last minute call to costume party, but better made up than going with none right?

1) Little corner eye deco

Just do your usual makeup and end it all with a little deco at the corner of your eyes. I signed my name with the Maybelline's Hypersharp Eyeliner. Don't just stop there. There are so many designs to explore - butterflies, heart shapes, bubbles, etc. The eyeliner is an amazing tool.

2) Edge of Glory inspired look.

Lady Gaga is so in and in the recent year, I've seen more Gaga's than her appearance on TV! Here's my take on her "Edge of Glory" MTV look. I guess you can even use the look for Cleopatra. Agree?

Different strokes for each eye.

Here's how I achieved the look:

3) Madonna Inspired Look

4) Dolly Face

I have done a previous makeup tutorial on how to create big dolly, anime eyes. Do check it out here. http://colourhuney.blogspot.com/2011/07/huge-anime-eyes.html

Hope these looks can inspire you or even help on your last minute costume plan. Happy Halloween and have fun!

XOXO, Christina aka Huney

[Makeup Tutorial] First Post

Labels: , , ,

I was recently out in for Sinema Move! http://huneyzworld.blogspot.com/2011/04/animation-week-part-2.html. And this was my makeup for the night.

Dark blue eyeshadow to bring out the colour of my contact lens.

Under the sun.
Drew a little white line on my under eye for a pair of bigger eyes.
Here's how I apply my eyeshadow.
The products that I used.
  1. Burmese Beauty : It’s a burgundy brown with teal green shimmer.
  2. A dark grey eyeshadow from Loreal's Open Eyes "Open Stellar" palette
  3. M.A.C's Nanogold eyeshadow
  4. Viva Glam 2  Lady Gaga Lipglass

I basically used Burmese Beauty (1) on my eyelids patting it near to the roots of eyelashes and the dark grey eyeshadow (2) to blend on the middle part of lid. Slowly pat the colours on to give the soft gradient effect. Then I used Nanogold (3) under the eyebrows for highlight, so that my eyes look more deep set. Then I finished off with Viva Glam 2 Lady Gaga Lipglass (4) on my lips.

Since my eyes are so heavy, the rest of the face should be left nude, so that focus will only be on the eyes.

Have fun with this look, see ya ~

XOXO,
Christina aka Huney

[What's New] M.A.C’s Viva Glam Gaga

Labels: , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees!

I'm back from honeymoon and I wana show ya guys my latest M.A.C. favourite.

The campaign, which features an ethereal-looking Lady Gaga holding on to sparkling jewels, was shot by British fashion photographer Nick Knight (he shot for big names like Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent) and was styled by her very own stylist, Nicola Formichetti.

The lipstick and lipgloss have been inspired by Lady Gaga herself and considering her penchant for appearing dramatically over the top outfits, a nude lipstick is definitely something to go with for her makeup eh?

Here's how the colour looks on me. They are my favourite lipstick and lipgloss for now as the nude colours compliment my coloured eyes very well.

So, what is Viva Glam all about? 100 per cent of the proceeds from sales of the Viva Glam line will go towards the M.A.C AIDS Fund. This fund focuses on supporting charitable initiatives around the world that are aimed that curbing the causes of HIV infection, for example, violence, discrimination and unequal access to financial and social resources.

The new Viva Glam line was launched in the United States on February 17 where Lady Gaga appeared on Good Morning America to promote the line in a nude latex-condom inspired suit complete with a huge hat and implanted facial horns.

And specially to give back to fans, M.A.C has launched the Viva Glam site at www.vivaglam.com that includes a very special message from Lady Gaga herself. On March 17, the website will transform into a social network website, where fans can upload photographs of their glammed-up lips and share HIV/AIDS information with all their friends via Facebook and Twitter.

There's also a masterpiece in the making by Lady Gaga herself and her best friend, Nicola. Hurry click on to Viva Glam's website to check out what it is, and get your very own Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick and Lipgloss at all M.A.C. counters today!
