Kiehl's 160th Anniversary - Give a Gift

Labels: , , ,

Remember not long ago I did a post on Kiehl's 160th Anniversary? This time round, everyone gets to try out Kiehl's too! Yipee! I feel like Santa Claus doing this.

Kiehl's was founded as an old-world apothecary in New York's East Village neighborhood. Its unique and extensive background represents a blend of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, herbal, and medicinal knowledge developed and passed on through the generations.

As Kiehl's celebrate their 160 years of giving, they have come up with this wonderful app in Facebook, for you and me to send our friends a personalized Kiehl's Gift of our favourite skincare samples.

How does "Give a Gift of Kiehl's" Work?

  • Like Kiehl's SG Facebook Fan Page to start giving (Click "Start Giving Now")

  • Select up to 3 skincare samples you would like to delight your friends with

  • Add a personal Kiehl's Touch to your gift by selecting up to 3 decorations

  • Voila! Click send and your friends will receive a private message on Facebook, which they can flash at any Kiehl's outlets in Singapore to redeem the samples.
I've already sent out my gifts. Have you? Go ahead and spread the love. And in fact, the more you share, the higher chance of you winning a year's supply of your favourite formulations!

So for those who have received gifts or wanting to gift, don't forget the promotion date is from 19th September  to 16th October! Have fun!

Labels: , , , , ,

Yipee! I'm on on magazine again! And this time with a dream fulfilled. I plucked up my courage and went for a lingerie photo shoot for Cleo Magazine Singapore. The shoot was to inspired girls of all sizes to show confidence in their body, not to be shy and hide.

This month's cover features Dakota Fanning. She's such a darling ~
I went with Miyo and met up with Janice, who was the one who hooked us up to this photoshoot. They were gorgeous babes, superb bodies and mine was "shy" next to them. But the wonderful people of Cleo encouraged me and boy, I loved the camera after a few snaps of pictures, I couldn't stop! LOL!

Here's the results.....

This is the spread for the smaller size girls. Amongst them is Miyo and Janice.
And this is me!!!
I do have my own flaws, I'm a plus size, but I have learnt to accept it and embrace my wonderful curves. Just have more confidence, smile and the world will smile back at ya!

So here's some snapshots that we took "backstage". Go hurry grab you copy of Cleo (October Issue) now!

Woke up super early for the shoot. No makeup on, but had my XL contact lens on. :)

Got my hair straightened and wonderful makeup done! I love my eyes!!!

Under flash....
Muahz!
Lights and Cameras all set up!

Check out the amount of bras!!! So colourful right?

We've picked out set to wear.....
And it was Miyo's turn first.

Love love love her eye makeup!

And it's a wrap for Miyo!
Forgot to snap a pic while Miyo is still in lingerie....
Next up was for me and Janice. Not sure why we're put together though.....

Then, it was time for our individual shots....

Much much much special thanks to Cleo for making my wish come true and also the wonderful ladies, Miyo and Janice for allowing me to put up their gorgeous photos.

Kiehl's 160th Birthday

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Kiehl's turned 160th and I was down at the celebration with some friends and a special thanks to William for the invitation. He's one of the Kiehl's boy, how can he not be there right?

That's William...
The event was at ION, Glass House and they had lined up the Kiehl's boys to greet every arriving guest that day.

After many tried, I managed to get all the guys to look at me....
So let me introduce you guys to Kiehl's before I go on
(I know you wana see more of the boys, be patient ?) =)
The venerable New York-based purveyor of fine quality skin and hair care was founded since 1851, as a classic pharmacy in the East Village neighbourhood. Kiehl's founding family established their apothecary to fufill the individual needs of every customer who came through its doors.
And so 160 years later, the magic of the "Kiehl's Experience" extends around the world as the company continues to delight patrons with its high quality products that assures the health of their skin and hair. Today, the family's message endures: " We are delighted to serve you."
In honor of this tradition, Kiehl's proudly introduces the Limited Edition New York Heritage Collection, in stores September 2011, and available in Kiehl's stores worldwide.

Love the display.
Friendly "Physicist" doing the famous Kiehl's greeting. He was very nice to introduce me to the products.
Packaged with the limited edition black and gold packaging (inspired by Kiehl's New York roots) are the 3 historical formulations. Namely, "Ultra Facial Cream", "Calendula Herbal Extract Toner" and "Original Musk Oil EDT". They are still customer's all time favourite today!

1) Ultra Facial Cream

  • 24-hour, light-textured daily hydrator leaves skin comfortable and visibly well-balanced, particularly in harsh weather conditions.
  • Unique combination of ingredients helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air.
  • With continuous moisture replenishment throughout the day, skin is smooth and healthy-looking.

P.S. The "physicist" told me that people use this when climbing Mt. Everest!

2) Calendula Herbal Extract Toner

  • Effective toner formulated with select herbal extracts.
  • Gently cleanses and soothes normal to oily skin types.
  • Contains no alcohol or harsh synthetic drying agents.
  • May be used to soothe and improve problem areas.

P.S. Don't think the solution has residue, it is in fact REAL flower petals in the bottle!

3) Original Musk Oil EDT

This modern version of Kiehl's classic signature scent is based on the unique blend that is Kiehl's Musk. Kiehl's special Musk "recipe" begins with an initial creamy, fresh citrus burst of Bergamot Nectar and Orange Blossom, followed by a soft floral bouquet of Rose, Lily, Ylang-Ylang and Neroli. Finally, Original Musk Eau de Toilette dries down to a warm, sensual Oriental finish of Tonka Nut, White Patchouli and, of course, Musk, the soul of this distinctively modern scent.

P.S. It was first discovered in the vault called the Love Oil..... =X

So after hearing all the fabulous, we went around taking photos and I took some with the celebrities present that day.

The display in the Glass House made me feel as though I was walking into a pharmacy...

Chua En Lai was the host for the day.

More Kiehl's boys...
Cute cake right?
Kui Jien and wife, Sarah Tan.
Cleo's Fashion Editor - Annabelle Fernandez
Peeping Chua En Lai.
Long time no see Diana Ser.
Pierre Png's wife, Andrea De Cruz in a sweet pink dress that day.

Makeup Maestro, Clarence Lee on left and Singapore's veteran Fashion Designer,  Keith Png.

"Double Confirmed" it's Hosson Leong.
Had a little chat with Chua En Lai in the Glass House and snapped a pic before he went mingling...
Then, it was time for us bloggers to CAM WHORE!!!

There was a camera machine and we just had to get our shots taken...
Then, machine did not satisfy us, we had to take some on our own cam. With Shu Qing.
With Joey.
With Terence.
And with Jessie.

With our very own Kiehl's boy, William.
Made a new acquaintance, Darren.
With Dr. Bone-s.

And how can we miss the Kiehl's Boys?

Just a little note before I go off.
