[What's New] Down To Earth With MAC X Brooke Shields Collection

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

American actress, model and former child star - Brooke Shields is the latest to join the family of M.A.C cosmetics' collabs. Her limited edition collection was launched islandwide on 2 Oct 2014 and this grey packaging with earthy colour play is the most wanted collection.

The fabulous Brooke Shields was inspired by two polar opposite makeup moods - one was more fresh and sheer and the other, more sultry and dramatic. This collection embraces the duality - a fresh version and the sexier and stronger version. Hence the grey packaging and the bright orange logo stamped on.

The highlight would have to be the biggest eyeshadow palette of 15 eyeshadow colours - GRAVITAS Eye Shadow. It was already selling out fast in M.A.C ION Sephora!

GRAVITAS Eye Shadow x15
  • Top Row: Pretty soft golden peach beige (satin), Soft Brown soft golden peach brown (matte), Expensive Pink pink with duochrome (veluxe pearl), Clove midtone golden brown (satin), Satin Taupe taupe with silver shimmer (frost)
  • Middle Row: Canter soft neutral gold (frost), Luscious neutral bronze (frost), Antiqued ash brown with bronze (veluxe pearl), Psych shimmering golden olive (frost), Carbone intense black (matte)
  • Bottom Row: Shroom soft beige with shimmer (satin), Persuade midtone cool grey brown (matte), Plummed shimmering dark plum (veluxe pearl), Lofty cool blackened brown (satin), Pepper dark charcoal (velvet)

Here's the colour swatches. I would have gotten them in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a massive number of eyeshadows...
But for those who prefer the more convenient eyeshadows, you can consider the 2 eyeshadow plattes that encompasses 5 eyeshadows each - Brooke Shields Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow.

The Mortal palette would be a more neutral palette with natural shades that you can wear anytime of the day with a tinge of pearly shimmer to give your eyes the pop and make them more "awake". Below is the swatch of the colours and I love how pigmented they are with just one swipe!

Next up is the Trusted Instinct palette consisting of darker toned colours and I am infatuated with the plum colour against my skin colour. It would be a lovely shade to have for Autumn/Winter. This palette would be more suitable for contouring as well as for the night engagements.

There's also 2 lipsticks - Excite and Gospel as well as 2 Lipglass - Artful and Knockout. I love the bright orange Excite lipstick. See how it goes so well with my red hair. Hehehehehe...

There's also a brow pencil, brow set, Opulash mascara, cream color base, bronzer and 2 polishes in this collection. You should pop by the M.A.C stores to check them out, there's nothing more fun than a colour play day out.... :)

Traffic Stopping Hair Colours

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Ever since my first attempt to tie dye my hair last year, I went through several colour changes by having my ends changing colours every few months.

I wasn't happy with the previous colour and so I went back to the hairstylist's to bleach and then add on the colours again. This time, it was red, green, maroon. We left it as that and 2 months later, I went back to bleach out my hair even more and this time, we changed the colour to orange, green and purple. It's definitely more prominent now with more bleaching out.

But bleaching the hair's a bitch! I had super duper dry ends when I got lazy or forgot to apply the hair moisturiser. And since I've had this super long long hair for more than 2 years, I thought it was time to snip it all off!

Just a couple of pictures before I snip it all off....

Woo! The amount of hair! Anyone wan hair extensions??
So, there, I "chopped" it all off, leaving little red tips at the end of my hair...

I loved the red ends lots, give my shorter curly hair a little twist, even when I tie my hair up in a ponytail.

3 months later, I was back at my hairstylist's to bleach out the red ends (which was dang difficult as he had to make sure my hair didn't break too!) as we decided to turn it turquoise blue as seen on Katy Perry and Photographer May Lin Le Goff.

We chose to do a gradient effect and this was achieved by getting the hair bleached into different tones, so the more yellow my hair gets, the greener the hair gets...

Ta Da! After 7 hours of hard work, we got the effect I wanted!

Above: This is how the hair colours looks like under sunlight.
Below: And this is how the colours look like under fluorescent light.

Yes, my hair's not straight, this is then my natural curls....
So, this is my coloured hair journey for the past few months.
Still unsure of what's my next move, but I know I'm enjoying the blue hair for now! :)

XOXO,
Christina aka Huney
