Prepping for Valentines' Day

Valentines' Day is approaching and I believe there are alot of makeup tutorials out there. But behind it all, you need the perfect canvas for the makeup to sit on and last the night. Here's my skincare routine on what I do the night before I have something big and I know I need to be pretty...

1. Cleanse with Covermark Mineral Wash to remove skin impurities.

2. Exfoliate with Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Skin Brightening Exfoliator to improve skin’s surface texture and reduce skin dullness.

3. I would slip in a mask here for more intensive hydration for the bright, clear face for the next day. Recommended: Covermark Cell Advanced Mask

4. Tone with  Kiehl's Clearly Corrective White Clarity-Activating Toner to retexturise and infuse skin with hydrating actives.

5. Apply the Covermark Cell Advanced Serum to strengthen and repair the skin's 'mother cells' to recreate firm, bright skin.

6. Apply Covermark Cell Advanced Lotion for the revolutionary ‘nano-emulsified technology’ to penetrate treatment ingredients into the skin, increasing blood flow to nurture the skin's 'mother cells', refining skin texture and improving the skin's firmness.

7. My favourite is this Covermark Cell Advanced Cream W that you apply at night. Upon application, treatment ingredients are instantly absorbed into the skin to enhance brightness and elasticity.

8. My little eye miracle would have to be Benefit's "it's potent! Eye Cream". Just little dabs below the eyes and my eyes are looking full of life.

9. And lastly for the care while you are sleeping, I would have 4 drops of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate and you will wake up with glowing skin!

Benefit Instant Beauty

I was recently at the Style x Benefit Workshop and picked up a few tips about their products and was introduced to their latest kits - Complexion Kit / Lip and Cheek Kit.

Here are the range of Benefit products...

Our homegrown makeup guru - Larry Yeo demonstrated that day and he began moisturizing and preparing the model's skin with Benefit's b.right! Radiant Skincare.

Yasminne Cheng was the host for the night.

In fact, after using them, the model's skin looked clean and refreshed, she could actually head out like that with some sunscreen.

Ok, now onto makeup.

Nice right? The model looked so young and refresh, totally suitable for a every day look. So here's a little introduction to their kits, so that everyone can try out and get instant beauty!

First up, Complexion Kit.

I received the Light version.

Inside are the products alongside a mirror and instructions of step-by-step usage of each product.

In the kit, there's POREfessional, a small bottle of HELLO FLAWLESS that matches my skin colour, 2 shades of boi-ing to mix or use alone for concealing and lastly a face powder and a brush to set the face. 

Following the steps and with some basic skills, you can achieve flawless looking skin in just 4 simple steps!

I got the Sugarlicious Kit that go deliciously nude... sweet & soft shades for a fresh, natural-looking glow!

There's Benetint, a rose tinted lip and cheek stain, High Beam for highlighting the high points of the face for a 3D look, Sugarbomb - a quadrant coloured blusher for the sugar rush flush and also Sugarbomb a shimmery light pink lip gloss.

That's me after using both kits with the added eye colour, eyeliner and mascara. I love how my skin looked like porcelain!

Apply a thin layer of this PRO balm to clean, lightly moisturized skin. Pat lightly from the center of the face outward with fingertips. Wait seconds, then apply makeup as usual. Skin appears smooth & even…isn’t that what we’re all looking for?

APPLY WHENEVER PORES COME OUT OF HIDING
If pores reappear, pat delicately on T-zone over makeup & blend. The lightweight, oil-free formula means a beautifully refined complexion. Remember, just a dab’ll do ya?
