[What's New] A Helping Hand

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Hi guys,

It seems like the monsoon season is here again! And I am more than happy to have a super cooling weather; re-shuffling the wardrobe, bringing all the hidden long sleeves clothing and scarves to the front. I'm already getting inspiration for the so-called Winter looks.

Some looks from Topshop this season.

And I'm considering getting a faux vest for myself.....

Ok. So I got myself all ready for the cold weather, but I forgot the most important thing before I left house today. Guess what! The UMBRELLA! Then I thought: "It's alright, the rain will pass. Maybe I should just head to the library for a while." But the rain just wouldn't stop!

So I decided to brave the rain and run across the street to get to my shuttle bus. But there was simply too slippery to dash. Luckily, a kind lady offered me to share shelter under her umbrella and you know what, it was the lady from China and not the other locals who were standing around. Can you believe it?!

Where is the love?????? Ok, now I got to say I've got little lesser bad things to say about the foreigners. Think I even have to take some words back. All thanks to the nice lady. Hehehe.

So here's another note to everyone. Remember your umbrella when you leave home!

Muahz,
Christina aka Huney

[What's New] M.A.C. A Tartan Tale (Chapter 2)

Labels: , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

I "braved" through all obstacles and (was having flu and fever) headed down to Vivocity for M.A.C.'s launch of Chapter 2 of the Tartan Tale collection. So here's a little of what I've seen and bought.

Chapter 2 has launched! Check out the colours!

They have also changed the deco.

These are what I bought.

I got myself Follow Your Fantasy eyeshadow, Glamora Castle eyeshadow, The Family Crest Frosted Pigments &
Style Clan Frosted Nail Lacquer.

Taking the products out of their boxes.

The eyeshadows. You can try picking up the thin (brown & blue) colours with angled brush, but the staff did say it's meant to be used mashed.

That's the only pigment I could lay my hands on.

I LOVE this sparkly nail polish. Am so gona use it once I remove my Tartan nails!

So ladies, here's my little update on the M.A.C.'s collection. Stay tuned tonight when I update my look when I use the colours! Hurry down to the stores to grab your little year end collection too!

[What's New] M.A.C. A Tartan Tale (Chapter 1)

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

After the much talked about M.A.C.'s Venomous Villians, here comes their year end collection that's launched every year. This year they have came up with a collection that revolves around the Tartan pattern.
So what's Tartan?

Here's a little explanation I pulled off  Wikipedia:
"Tartan is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours. Tartans originated in woven wool, but now they are made in many other materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland. Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns. (Tartan is also known as plaid in North America, but in Scotland, a plaid is a tartan cloth slung over the shoulder or a blanket.)

Tartan is made with alternating bands of coloured (pre-dyed) threads woven as both warp and weft at right angles to each other. The weft is woven in a simple twill, two over - two under the warp, advancing one thread each pass. This forms visible diagonal lines where different colours cross, which give the appearance of new colours blended from the original ones. The resulting blocks of colour repeat vertically and horizontally in a distinctive pattern of squares and lines known as a sett." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartan

Basically, it's the Scottish inspired plait design and they have incorporated that in their packaging design. Check out the pics I took, thanks to the friendly M.A.C. staffs that allowed me to take little snaps.

Chapter 1: The bags, the sets & the brushes.

The face kits and lip, eye, brush bags.

The very tidy in-store deco.

The magical look they came up with this new collection.

A second look, which I LOVED! Thinking of getting my hair orange now!

The wonderful prints and colours of the collection.

All stand for Sir Teddy - kind benefactor of the M∙A∙C Kids.

I just had to grab a pic myself.

I got my self the Hark the Heraldry Face Kit.

My inspired nail art for the collection.

A closer look at the nails minus the thumb.

I tried hard to re-create the M.A.C. crest.
Kinda messed it up here. Tehehe....

You guys better rush down to the stores to stock up on the wonderful collection 2 more Chapters to launch. So hurry!

[Get The Look] All Hallow's Day Wig

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

How was Halloween? I had so much fun with the 987fm crew at their RSVP party. It took me roughly 2 hours just to get ready. Everything was a mess man! I had to re-do my makeup several times just to get the look that i wanted.

Check out the cool eyelashes that I got like 9 months ago for this event.
So here's how I got the wig on:

First, if you have long hair like me. Pleat them all up.
Otherwise, jump straight to step 2.

Step 2: Pin you tail of hair on top of head. Keep it as close to head as possible.

The next step might just make ya look silly.
Simply just net it, so that no little black strands of hair start showing.

Last and final, wear the wig, pin it into place, do your makeup, accessorize and go party!

I bought this last minute at a Indian store just a few blocks away from my house. Sticker Henna prints. Cool ya?

Here's the final look. A very proud peacock.
I even got myself a pair of Gold Melissa Magic.
See: http://www.melissa.com.br/en/produtos/detalhe/83/melissa-magic

Do give me your comments of let me know what you were dressed up as. Let's go party together next year!

& http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=242502&id=56686125 for more pics of me and the 987fm crew. Have fun & I'll be back soon!

[Tried & Tested] Etude House's Gingko Lip Patch

Labels: , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

My old lappie went down on me and I had to transfer everything out & load my programs into this new one. So update's a little slow here. Bear with me.... But 1 good side is that it's a heavy duty lappie for the gamer girl in me and And AND, it's comes with a built in webcam. More ways of camwhoring for me! Yipee~

I got myself the Etude House's Gingko Lip Patch. I know it's kinda weird when I was applying it, but the effect after? AMAZING!

The patch/mask works the same as the face mask. Just apply the smaller piece above upper lip and the other close to the lower lid. You will feel this chilly feeling when you first apply. Keep it there for 15-20 mins before removing. No washing after is required.

That's me with the lip patch. Silly looking isn't it?

No showing of panda eyes allowed!

And wad you are left with is smooth skin around your lips and I must say the pores look finer and firmer around the lips.

That's how the product looks like.

Muahz!

How I use it? Every other 4 days or so. I would do it every alternate day if I find that the skin around my lips are getting dry. Highly recommended by me, do try soon ladies!

I promise I'll write real soon.

[Tried & Tested] HiP Loreal

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

I've been a fan of the HiP (High Intensity Pigements) Loreal colours since it has launched and I have been using and shipping the products from US. And good news! They have launched it in Singapore recently! HiP HiP Hooray~

I was kinda disappointed they only brought in the eyeliner and eyeshadows though. Here's my purchase:

PRODUCT : High Intensity Pigments Color Chrome Eyeliner
(915 Silver Lightning & 920 Gold Charge)

 A little application tip.

The pencils out of the packaging.

A testing of the colours. Yes! They are that shiny!

I must say, the eyeliner's easy to apply and the colours appear bright immediately upon the first application. I will definitely recommend this to every girl out there. U can even use it to get your smokey eyes just by slightly fading the colour out! I'll try it out tomorrow and get the pics up!

In the meantime, check out this girl's blog entry on the whole collection. Think she's got the whole review covered.

They have Pencil Eyeliner, Gel Eyeliner, Colour Pigments, Face Powder, Lipstick & Eyeshadows. I say, get them all! *Pictures pulled out from http://www.jedroot.com/*
