Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

For every bottle of Limited Edition Midnight Recovery Concentrate sold, SGD$5 will be donated to Action for Aids (AfA).
Kiehl's together with 14-time Grammy Award winning artist and philanthropist Alicia Keys, and Keep a Child Alive (the organization Keys co-founded in 2003), are partnering to bring dignified treatment, care and support to children and families affected by HIV. Beginning 1 January 2014, Kiehl’s will begin selling a special edition of their Midnight Recovery Concentrate with 100% of the proceeds, up to $200,000, benefiting Keep a Child Alive globally.

Locally, Kiehl’s Singapore is partnering with Action for Aids (AfA), a non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to AIDS prevention, advocacy and support. From 1 January 2014, for every bottle of Limited Edition Midnight Recovery Concentrate sold, SGD$5 will be donated to AfA. The limited edition bottle includes a special charm and an important call to action from Alicia Keys to, “Join our movement,”echoing her continued drive to encourage everyone to use their voice for change and make a difference in the fight against AIDS.

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is something I use religiously every night. Containing of potent concentration of botanical extracts specifically formulated to biologically replicate skin’s natural lipids for optimal skin repair throughout the night. I simply drop 3-4 drops of it on my face and "magic" works on my face through the night, leaving my skin radiant and smooth, making it easier for me to put on my makeup.

Other than that, Kiehl’s Singapore have also taken a step further to raise more funds and HIV awareness in the following campaigns:

“Smile with Kiehl’s” Facebook Photo Contest

In this campaign, Kiehl’s will be collecting photos of “smiles from children”. Island-wide “Join the K Movement” Fund Raising

In collaboration with AfA, Kiehl’s volunteers will carry out an island-wide fund raising campaign to raise even more funds and awareness. In appreciation of each donation made, a Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate sample packet will be given to each donor.

The funds collected will contribute to financial assistances schemes under HIV + Pregnant Mothers’ Fund. This fund was set up to assist pregnant HIV+ mothers with Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy or HAART during the pregnancy. This treatment helps to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIVand has been proven to be successful in an overwhelming number of cases. Funds will also be channeled to assist diagnosed HIV+ children under 12 years old to seek immediate medical treatment.

"We welcome this partnership with Kiehl’s and their continued commitment to the community. Such partnerships will help in the eradication of HIV in Singapore. The project ‘Keep a Child Alive’ will do just that, the funds they raise will help prevent mother-to-child transmission and support children already living with HIV. We are proud to partner Kiehl’s in their awareness and fund-raising efforts and we trust that our partnership will continue into the future.” --- Professor Roy Chan, President of AFA
“Kiehl’s has a longstanding heritage of working to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic with our work beginning in the 1980’s, when it was taboo to even talk about the disease. Just in the past 10 years, we have raised more than $2,500,000 for the cause.
We are proud to continue this important philanthropic work with Keep a Child Alive, an effective, on-the-ground, organization built on the foundation that every person has the right to health care and that all children deserve a future.” --- Cheryl Vitali, Kiehl’s Worldwide General Manager

While great advances in the treatment of HIV/AIDS have been made in the past decade—with54% of adults now getting treatment in low and middle income countries compared to the 0.13% ten years ago—AIDS remains one of the world's most serious health challenges. Statistics also show that without HIV treatment, half of the children living with HIV will die by the age of two, and 80% by the age of five. Over 16 million children have been orphaned due to AIDS globally.  As the startling statistics above make clear, there is still a lot of work to do to help children and families whose lives continue to be dramatically impacted by the virus.

[Tried & Tested] Through My Eyes: A Day in the Life of Christina

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Ever wondered what a day in my life is like?

Being a blogger and graphic designer, my days require me to spend long hours in front of the computer screen and attend events in the evenings. I used to wear coloured contact lenses to improve my look, however I would have to frequently use eye drops to keep my eyes moist.

Apart from the uncomfortable feeling of dry eyes, sometimes my eyes would look bloodshot. Did you know that bloodshot eyes are usually an indication of a lack of oxygen to the eye? Now you do.

My quality of life improved significantly when I started using 1•DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® for ASTIGMATISM! Not only do I get crisp and clear vision, but also HEALTHY eyes! The contact lenses are more breathable, ensuring your eyes get sufficient oxygen throughout the day. With 1•DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® for ASTIGMATISM, you can benefit from Triple Care properties of Moisture, Oxygen and UV protection to keep your eyes healthy and comfortable all day, every day! So awesome, right?! I no longer need to use eye drops during the day even after long hours working or attending late night functions.

Moreover, with international ANSI recognised standards of UV protection, my eyes are protected from harmful UVA and UVB. I don't have to worry about my eyes when I’m in the sun!

Another favourite feature is the Auto-Focus Technology which helps position and keeps my contact lens in place even when I lie sideways on the couch to watch TV or play video games in bed.

The best part is that at the end of a long day, I can just throw away my contact lenses instead of taking the time to clean and store them. I just love the feeling of starting my day with a new pair of contact lenses!

Well, our eyes are the windows to the soul. “Comfortable, HEALTHY eyes with clear vision” is definitely my motto for choosing the right contact lenses. I'm sticking to 1•DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® for ASTIGMATISM for sure!

For all you Huneybees who have read the story and want to beat the blur with 1•DAY ACUVUE®
MOIST® for ASTIGMATISM, you can get CLEAR and HEALTHY vision too by registering for a 5-day consecutive trial at www.acuvue.com.sg/beattheblur. Spread the joy of having crisp and healthy vision today to your loved ones and friends!

[Tried & Tested] Easy Peasy Makeup Removal With ORBIS Oil Cut Cleansing Liquid N (Moomin Limited Edition)

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Not just the packaging, even the paper bag has Moomin printed on!

I have been on constant search for effortless makeup removal methods. I hate those that stings the eyes and takes multiple hard rubs to remove that water resistant mascara! So many fine lines created and simply wad a frustrating way to end the day right?

Well, I've found the one just right for me, 3 pumps of this cleansing oil is all I need to remove all the makeup on my face within minutes!

The lovely people of ORBIS delivered this Christmas present just at the right time. With its limited edition Moomin packaging, you will feel all so girly and back to childhood with sweet dreams immediately after you remove all our makeup.

ORBIS is the Number 1 brand in Japan for Holistic Beauty, being an industry pioneer in oil-free skincare. The brand’s inaugural 100% Oil-Free skincare concept was first introduced in 1987. It was a hit, and ORBIS has since taken by storm various Asian countries like Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

And like their motto, this bottle of cleansing liquid is:
  • Oil-Free
  • Fragrance-Free
  • Alcohol-Free
  • Free of Artificial Colours
  • Mild Acidity
  • Allergy Tested (Formulated to minimize the risk of allergy)
  • Non-Comedogenic Tested (Formulated to minimize the risk of acne)

It's so simple. Now everyday I get home, remove my contact lens and pump 3 pumps of the cleansing liquid in my palm, then I rub it all over my face. I like to use this dry, even though you can do it with water, it's very delicate, no tugging of skin is needed. After which, you can use your facial wash and proceed with your routine face regime.

I even used a makeup remover tissue to test how clean it is after using the cleansing liquid. I'm amazed that there is no residue left! This is my favorite makeup remover by far and I love the moisturised bouncy feeling my skin has after using it!

Excuse my dark circles, but see how clean my skin is!!!
