[Tried & Tested] Sexy Up With O.P.I Fifty Shades Of Grey

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

With the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, I bet some of you out there will be trying out new bedroom fun. But before you guys go spanky-wanky, don't forget to dress for the occasion and coat your nails to get right into the mood~

Inspired by the love story, comes 6 new nail polishes from O.P.I. Each bottle is naughtily named that is fit to suit the Fifty Shades Of Grey theme. Since I already have an overflowing collection of nail polishes, I decided to get the mini set.

These shades were not really what I have in mind for the collection though, they were a little like the usual nail colours that O.P.I have and just repackaged, I was hoping to see more of different shades of grey and probably even grey nail polishes in different textures (sand effect, leather effect, feather effect, etc.) and maybe some nail art add on like studs or feather.

So here are the shades from left to right - My Silk Tie, Dark Side Of The Mood, Romantically Involved, Embrace The Gray, Shine For Me, Cement The Deal.

Cement The Deal - I'd sign anything to get my hands on this stony, cool grey.
Comparing the 2 shades of grey, I was more of a fan for Cement The Deal. It is a more blue toned light grey and not too many brands of nail polishes carry this shade.

Shine For Me - This shimmering silver with subtle blue sparkle really turns me on.
I thought this is a glitter topcoat, but with 3 coats, it is so easy to achieve this look. It is super easy to apply and the glitter payoff is just nice for the little sparkle.

Embrace The Gray - Let this chic, moody gray creme become one with you.
This is a couple shades darker than Cement The Deal. I love how this shade reflects the moody side of Christian Grey. The formula has a nice consistency and is very easy to apply with good opacity, it looks good with glossy or matte topcoat.

Romantically Involved - I'm in a deep relationship with this luscious creme red.
This is a red that you will be able to find everywhere and well, it is here to remind you of the red chambers in Christian Grey's house where all the action takes place. This polish is really opaque, just 2 coats and you can get a nice set of red nails, it will also be good for the upcoming Chinese New Year or even as a french tip against the other colours.

Dark Side Of The Mood This brooding, stormy charcoal is dangerously gorgeous.
So now you know Mr Grey's secret, are you ready to indulge in his dark side? I was first thinking this is just another black nail polish, but if you look closer, this is a very, very dark shade of gray with blue undertones and a very slight pearl shimmer. The shimmer is very  and it's hardly visible even in direct sunlight. This polish has a sheer tone to it, requiring 3 coats to get to this opaque shade.

My Silk Tie - This silky, gleaming silver has got me all tied up.
Just the right frosty silver nail polish to remind you of the blindfolding neck tie. I like that the brush strokes are not obvious even after a couple of coats. It is so easy to work with and the opacity is good.

So there you have it! This my review of the O.P.I Fifty Shades Of Grey nail polish collection.
They are already out in stores in Singapore and fun with those sexy nails!

[What's New] Go Sparkly This Christmas With Models Own Diamond Luxe Collection

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

As the saying goes - "Diamonds are a girl's best friend", I've always adored my blings and I will never let go of any chance to wear them. So when I received the Models Own Heart Red nail polish, I was simply jumping with joy!

This lovely shade of red nail polish comes from Models Own first ever ‘luxe’ collection – Diamond Luxe. This special range of nail polishes features gold caps and are luxuriously filled with Diamond Dust in them to deliver a completely unique golden metallic finish.

The ultra-fine gold glitter dust are subtle but gives the nail colour a special shine, that no other nail polishes does. It glides on smoothly onto nails and with the square tip brush, it is a fuss free, quick way to glam up your nails. 2 coats 30 minutes was all I need to paint my 10 little fingers and I'm set to go out!

It is also easy to remove and I simply love this shade of red that comes just in time for Christmas as well as Chinese New Year. But if you are afraid red might be too strong a colour, you can still find 4 other shades in stores - Princess Pink, Trillion Taupe, Asscher Blue and Radiant Pink.

So which shade would you pick?

They are now in stores at aLT@BHG, John Little Plaza Singapura, Robinsons JEM, selected Guardian, Watsons and Sasa stores, retailing at $14.90 each. Have fun with them ~

[Tried & Tested] Models Own HyperGel (Turquoise Glow)

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Models Own has a new addition in their nail polish collection. *Nail Polish Addict Madness Scream*

The HyperGel line from Models Own has just been pushed into the Singapore market. Boasting of a super-high-glossy-gel-effect with extra vibrant colour. You can have gel nails done in the comfort of your home without the exorbitant bill and having to buy a UV light!

There is a selection of colours under the range, and I chose to have the Turquoise Glow. There are other soft pastel colours, that are the absolute must-have this summer, but for me the mint green nail polish was screaming for my attention. Hehehe...

This is a thicker gel formula that coats right on top of your nails. The nail polish glides onto my nails easily, but it was a little difficult working with the round brush. Though I might get spill-overs, it is just simply easy to clean up. You have to work fast though, the nail polish dries to a sticky feel almost instantly!

I only need 2 coats of this nail polish on each nail and they dry with a beautiful opaque finish with super shine. I didn't even need to put top coat to achieve this shine!

The formula is also enriched with lotus flower oil which will nourish the nails and also act as a barrier against water, so the polish would last longer. I had these mint green nails for a week without having any chips and it's definitely much more durable than the usual nail polishes.

So if you are looking for long lasting nail polishes and wana shave yourself the hassle of having to go down to a nail salon, why not give this a try?

Models Own HyperGel is Available in 5 shades:
  • Pink Veneer
  • Cornflower Gleam
  • Naked Glow
  • Turquoise Gloss
  • White Light

Models Own HyperGel is available at aLT@BHG, John Little Plaza Singapura, Robinsons Orchard, selected Guardian and Sasa stores.

Price : SD$14.90 (each bottle)

China Glaze - Real Nail Polish Appliques (Kickin' Up My Kilt)

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

I've recently been obsessed with the Irish kilt designs and I was super duper happy when I found the China Glaze Nail Polish Appliques while shopping at *SCAPE Underground

As like all nail polish appliques, it works like a sticker that adheres to your nails with the warm of your hand and it's easily taken off by peeling off. No damage is done to your nails and it's a snap of fingers to get pretty nails done with design for the week!

There's more design and I'm thinking of getting more!
This set of appliques cost me SGD$8.
Maybe I should run a giveaway? Yay or Nay?

[Weekly Nail Art] My Essence Cosmetics Obsession

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I have been neglecting this section, but I wana mention my recent nail polish obsession - Essence Cosmetics. The products are from UK and it is pretty cheap. So imagine me at Watsons Ngee Ann City whenever I'm there!

This is their latest "Colour & Go" nail polishes which dries fast, shines brightly and looks perfect with the newly improved quick & easy brush
The interesting thing is that they will have their usual staple products and collections as well. Some of you might say, it's so cheap, what about the quality?

All I can say, the products are nothing shy of the bigger brands of cosmetics out there....

Check out my recent purchases and swatches....

The Fruity collection.

My favourite so far - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs collection.
Every small nail polish is named after the individual dwarfs.

There's even a Snow White themed nail stickers and nail file!

And lastly was my recent buy.
It's more of effect nail polishes like glitter, crack and magnetic.

I'm not a fan of the magnet as it dies not create very distinctive patterns. The one below, I created with another brand's magnet.

Essence Cosmetics can be found at the named Watsons stores below...
  • Ngee Ann City
  • Lucky Plaza
  • Plaza Singapura (Level 4, new extension)
  • Sun Plaza

Etude House Season 2 Store @ Wisma Atria

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

On National Day - 09 Aug 2012, Etude House at Wisma Atria reopens after a major face lift. Called Season 2 store, not only doesit have the newest products, the prices are better and they even offer the latest Makeup trends. That day, goodies were given away as well as makeover sessions. The top giveaway would be the SHINee autographed CD and fans queued since 6am.
The store opened at 9am and there was already a huge crowd. Too bad, I wasn't the lucky few to get the CD, but a very nice fan let me take a photo of her "prize".

*Scream scream scream!!!!*

Minho was there for the opening too! :X

Wah pretty glass figurines dancing under the chandelier. So pretty...

I love the new store concept. It's so clean and tidy, even though there's lesser pink, I still feel a lot like a princess in there.

Psst, that's Yu Xi, I've been buying items from her at Etude House. Her service is great! Not only does she share tips, I will always ask her to contact me when there's new collection. :)

WAH! Nail polishes! I wan them all!

A bunch of pretty Korean ladies appeared in black and walked into the stores. For awhile, everyone in the queue were asking which Kpop band are they. Even Etude House's makeup artists look so good!

OMG! I wan this dressing table!

OK! Let's take a look at my purchases. Miminum spending already.  >.<|||
Left: Precious Mineral Sun BB Cream (With additional sponge applicator), 2 bottles of Mascara Remover, Pale Blue with Multi Coloured Glitter Nail Polish, Tear Eyeliner (#4 Sunny Teardrops), Sweet 7 Way Buffer for Nails, Proof 10 Liquid Liner ( OR201), Under Lash False Lashes.
The water bottle was a gift for spending over $60.

The eye-liner is a beautiful orange gold tinge that can brighten the eyelids or even add that little sparkle when you blink...

I use this for undereye lining, not as strong as a white liner, but can still widen eyes...

The BB Cream is very much like their Precious Mineral BB Cream, except this has a SPF 50+/PA+++ with Whitening, Anti-Wrinkle, Anti-Darkening formula. It's easy to blend and keeps me protected under the sun with its waterproof formula!

Being part of the first 89 customer giveaway, I received a Makeup Bag upon purchase! Inside, there was not only samples, there was also a travel set, just nice for my upcoming trip....
