[Get The Look] Easy Steps To Adding Colour To Your Daily Makeup Look With New Products From Maybelline

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Wana know how to achieve this look of mine? It's totally effortless and affordable. A clean almost nude look with a splash of pink eyeliner is just what I needed for a day out and here's the basic steps using Maybelline products!

Step 1: Primer - Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser is a translucent gel primer that promises soft, smooth, pore-free skin after use. It’s a basic primer to blur the appearance of pores and get your skin feeling “baby smooth” with a mattifiying finish and preps skin for foundation and BB Creams, creating a smooth canvas so that your makeup is able to glide on seamlessly. You can use the product as a finishing gel as well, the effects are more obvious too!

Step 2: Foundation - Maybelline Super Mineral 24 Healthy Long Lasting Foundation with Perlite

This darling bottle of foundation had Mai Miyagi doing a spread in ViVi magazine June 2013 issue when it was released in Japan. Every girl was raving about it and I was glad to try it. I have been using this foundation everyday since.

It's light, it lasts throughout the day by holding on to my powder and it's shade suits us Asian's perfectly. With its exclusive Micro-Mineral Perlite technology, it instantly traps excessive oil and sweat, leaving behind a velvety feel.

Step 3: Powder - Maybelline SUPER MINERAL 24 Two Way Cake Foundation

Nothing is as fun as bringing the Girl Power out in you. With the new Super Mineral 24 2 way Cake foundation, comes the limited edition covers that has a choice of either Catwoman or Batgirl on the cover. I was given the Catwoman one, which is just nice the character I prefer more.

This powder also contains Perlite and it sticks to my skin all day. For this instance though, I just lightly brushed on the powder o my face, to set the foundation and so that I won't perspire streaks of beige sweat in the middle of the day due to our warm weather...

Step 4: Eyebrow - Maybelline Fashion Brow Mascara

These brow mascaras are currently my fav, as it makes my brow last throughout the day (don't you hate it when you rub and the brow that you drew is gone?). They come in 2 colors, Rusty Brown and Dark Brown. I'm using the Rusty Brown as I have recently lighten my hair colour.
One thing to love is the mascara wand. Not only is it easy to apply, the rounded tip also helps to build volume to the brow, best for those with thin brows.

One tip when using brow mascara is to back swipe the brow, so that colours get in between the hairs and then brush lightly from inner corner outwards. Not only will this make your brows look fuller, you can also ensure that every strand is coated.

Step 5: Eyeliner - Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner

So once you have your nude skin colour eyeshadow on your whole lid, apply this metallic glossy eyeliner. It dries within seconds and totally smudge proof. I have the pink one one and in fact this season, blue is in and less flashy, you can give it a try too!

Step 6: Eyeliner - Maybelline Lasting Drama Pen Gel Liner

After the pink eyeliner, I still had a thin black line along my lashes. This trick is to make your lashes look fuller and also make the pink pop even more whilst, widening your eyes. So here, I'm using the new Maybelline Lasting Drama Pen Gel Liner.

What's special is that normal gel liners come in a pot with a brush, which is troublesome. So for this, you simply have to twist the knob at the back of the pen for some gel liner and you can either apply it directly or on the back of your hand before drawing your eyeline.

The black is intensive and what's amazing is before it really dries and set in, you can still smudge it. After which, the eyeline will stay intact. And what's best is that you can control the thick and thin of the line with the soft silicone pen tip.

So, there you have it! These are the simple steps to add a little colour to your daily makeup look. Simply finish it with some blushers and lip gloss, you are set to go! And at the end of the day, you have to try this new product to remove your makeup.

It removes makeup and cleanse your face in one easy step. Introducing the Maybelline Clean Express Miracle Oil-GelThis unique 2-in-1 oil-gel remover & cleanser instantly dissolves stubborn & water-proof makeup while cleansing your skin at the same time with its Moringa seed extract - a super powerful purifier.

All I have to do is squeeze a 50c coin amount of the gel and rub it all over my face, the gel will slowly melt my makeup away and when you wash off, not only is the makeup removed, there is oily residue left behind! Totally time saving and especially useful for those who gets so tired at the end of the day, all you want is to sleep soon right?

Hope this tutorial helps and looking forward to seeing more "colours"on the streets.
Thank you Maybelline for sending me the products!

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Are you Bold or Nude?

Introducing the all new lipsticks from Maybelline. Choose from both sides - BOLD & NUDE to suit your character. BOLD is brighter and more matte whereas NUDE is more glossy and add sweetness to your look. Which if more you?

For the BOLD range, I have the MAT 1-5 (Hot Pink, Sugar Pink, Cheeky Coral, Vivid Coral, Bold Red), each a strong colour and I'm loving it. This is definitely more my style, super match with my pink hair! This is a range for those who like to do light eye makeup and want to show off your lips.

Colour Swatch
From Top Left: MAT 1, MAT 2, Mat 3
From Bottom Left: MAT 4, MAT 5
Nice right? I feel so Nicki Minaj! My favourite from the range is MAT1 (Hot Pink).

For the NUDE range, I have the NE01 (Blush Beige), NE04 (Velvet Coral), NE05 (Nude Pink) and NE06 (Sheer Rose). The colours are not very bright, just a light sheer tinge to your lips, with a glossy effect. Highly recommend for those who focus more on their eye makeup.

I have NE01 (Blush Beige) on. It's a soft pink tinge on my lips and I like how it sweetens the whole look, as sometimes with a full black eyeliner, I tend to look too fierce.

So which one are you?
BOLD or NUDE?

[What's New] Dream Matte Range from Maybelline New York

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

The latest addition to Maybelline is definitely my lifesaver in weathers like this. Hitting as high as 34°C, my makeup is a mess right from the moment I step out of my house. So I tend to go simple, focusing more on my foundation and concealing, trying to go for that nude look.

So at the launch of Maybelline's Dream Matte Range, I was invited by Cheryl to join her at the Bliss House Theme Restaurant. It very much reminded me of the ex-Fullhouse Cafe and everything was "Ah! So CUTE!!" right from the moment you step into this archway.

Welcoming us are the “angel” and the “devil” and I was brought to another end of the restaurant to take my pick of the good boys, or the bad boys. Cheryl chose to be with the bad, so I was the goodie 2 shoes!

Check out the hunks!

Have a seat on the plushy sofas and seriously the whole restaurant is screaming take wedding photos here!

So, here are the stars! Ready for the reveal?

Presenting Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse.
Alongside, are the Lasting Drama Pen Gel Liner and Baby Skin Pore Eraser.

The makeup artist teaching us tips for the day was non other than Larry Yeo himself! Here's his reference to choose the right Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse for your skin based on your MAC foundation shades.
  • MAC NC35 – Maybelline Nude Light 4
  • MAC NC40 – Maybelline Honey Beige Medium 4
  • MAC NC45 – Maybelline Sandy Beige Medium 1

For Larry's tip, he started with the Baby Skin Pore Eraser, which was the #1 product in Korea. Your skin will look flawless and the pores minimized.
A tip from Larry: This is a silicon-based product so don’t use it with a gel-based moisturiser. Your makeup will be running down in streaks like noodles!
Then, use a medium-sized brush to pick up the Dream Matte Mousse (or you can use you hands), put it on the back of your hand to remove clumps and to compact the product onto the brush strands and gently sweep it across your face.

See how flawless she looks?

If you want more coverage, use the Dream Liquid Mousse. That was what he used for the "angel" model. Larry then helped each of us match our foundation colours and he even taught me to use 2 different shades to contour my face for a slimmer me!

So, all of us brought home the Dream Matte Range in a super duper cute storybook and here's my short review of the products. (Don't worry, I will be using them in my videos, so you can see it in action too).

On the left, is the Dream Liquid Mousse and on the right, is the Dream Matte Mousse. They are very different in texture and even how it feels on your skin if different too!

As you can see, on the left, my hand with the Dream Liquid Mousse applied is smoother and I'm loving the coverage it is giving, my green veins were not obvious too!

As for the right, the Dream Matte Mousse felt airy on my hand, as though nothing was applied. But the slight cakey look there is to it, I'm not a fan. It also seems a little more yellow toned compared to the Dream Liquid Mousse. I think the Liquid Mousse is still my preferred choice.

There are more upcoming products in the Maybelline range, do stay tuned for my reviews...
