[What's New] The M.A.C Isabel & Ruben Toledo Collection Swept Me Off My Feet

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

I swept them all up like a #Toledo! This is a very exciting collection from M.A.C as they collaborates with fashion’s most romantic couple - Isabel and Ruben Toledo!

"They are renowned for their award-winning and imaginative work in fashion design and illustration. This unique collaboration with M·A·C pairs Isabel’s sensational penchant for colour with Ruben’s vibrant energy in a palette of hues designed to sculpt, paint and transform the face. Specially designed white packaging features Ruben’s illustrations, an array of graphic lines and red-lipped faces brought to life with his one-of-a-kind aesthetic.”

I'm already a M.A.C addict and when you start throwing colours and nicely designed packaging at me, I would fall head over heels uncontrollably. I splurged like a Toledo (*Tornado, get it?) and there was no regrets at all!

I didn't sweep up the whole collection, but here's some swatches I took in store, before I share with you a tutorial with the ones that I have.
*These are limited editions, so some of them might have already been swept up at the launch ~

So for the eyes, there are 3 palettes - Bellgreens, Moodyblu and Violetwink. I have the Bellgreens, so I would be sharing them later, but here's the lovely blue palette - Moodyblu and purple pink palette - Violetwink.

The more fun and surprising products have got to be the coloured eyeliners and mascara, that will be so inviting for the summer time fun under the sun!

And if you are a fan of gradient blushers, you have got to get these 3 shades of lovely blushers ranging from soft pink to peach for that sun-kissed look.

And like I told you, colours are major in this collection, choose from a range of 6 lipsticks and 6 lip glosses to complement that beautiful eye makeup of yours. Oxblood was a top favourite that night and I was glad I managed to snag one for myself! Yipee!

In the collection are also 3 shades of nail polishes - Faint of Heart, Venus Red and Vixen, as well as a Powder Blush Brush that comes with a pouch and a unique Makeup Bag that features all the wonderful graphics of the collection.

On the day of the launch, I also got a little makeup touch up with the lime green Chlorafill eyeliner and Sin on my lips. Hehehehe, that sounded kinda badass eh? So what do you think of the look? I will share more of the video once I'm done with the editing. Stay tuned k?

[What's New] Get Unique & Vampy With M.A.C x Nasty Gal Lipsticks

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Nasty Gal is definitely not a stranger to the savvy online shoppers with their unique and funky apparels ranging from brands Jeffrey Campbell, UNIF, MinkPink and more. That is also why when they have collaborated with M.A.C Cosmetics to come up with a collection that's fast snapped up in US. I had to rush down to the M.A.C counters early in the morning to nab the colours of lipsticks I wanted!

The collection features 3 of this season's boldest, baddest lip colors (deep purple, bombshell red and rich burgundy lipsticks) as well as a nail polish, but for Singapore, we are only getting the 3 lippies. These colours are not your usual nude and red lipsticks, they would definitely go well with Nasty Gal's sense of fashion style for risk takers and tastemakers. Style has attitude, and so do you!

From left to right: Gunner, Stunner, Runner

Say hi to Gunner, Stunner and Runner! I skipped on Stunner as I already have too much red lipsticks, I'm more into the vampy Gunner and Runner. But here's a swatch of the 3 lipsticks and how Stunner looked on me.

Stunner is your badass bombshell red lipstick that is like its name, stunningly standout, matching your fierce sense of style. This matte formula is pretty close shade to come in between M.A.C's Ruby Woo and Mac Red.

So, let's move on to my purchased 2 other shades - Gunner and Runner.

The collection's must have has got to be Gunner. The vampy dark purple with cool undertone lippie is simply easy to glide on and definitely a must have for the leaders.

Entrepreneurship is for hustlers only--you have to make people want what you're selling and it's competitive as hell. 'When dealing in vintage, you never reveal your source.' Lucky for you, we're letting you in on this little secret--to get what you want, sometimes getting loud and lippy (while rocking the perfect shade of violet) is mandatory. --- Sophia Amoruso, CEO of Nasty Gal

Runner is the ideal medium-dark, burgundy red tone with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It glides on easily, but isn't too even, I had to apply it for a few layers to get this shade. But when wearing this lipstick, be sure to have lipbalm on before having the lipstick, as it can be pretty drying on the lips.

Sophia ran away from convention, capitalism and the suburbs, an adventure that caused her to eventually run smack into something she did want--Nasty Gal, and the perfect shade of bordeaux for the boardroom.

Runner is a close colour to Sin and you can also take a look at Diva, which is a slightly more brownish toned lipstick...

So, you Nasty Gals, if you are fans of the brand and dark lippies, pop on over to the  M.A.C counter at ION Orchard Sephora, to get your hands on these limited edition colours!

[What's New] Celebrate Halloween With M.A.C x Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi Huneybees,

Happy Post-Halloween Everyone! How did you spend your freaky Halloween week? On that day, I did not do any dressup like every year, but I did do something special - visiting the scary makeup artists at the M.A.C counter in ION Orchard. Check out their horror-ific looks, I bet you will be dying to do their looks too!

This year's Halloween is amazingly celebrated with the launch of the M.A.C x Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection. I have not managed to catch Rocky Horror before, my closest to it would be the Glee version....

But of course the classic is still the best. See! They've even printed the characters on the inner part of the packaging!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show kicks off the celebration of its 40th anniversary in wild style with an untamed M∙A∙C collaboration, featuring an outrageous collection of hues and products specially designed to recreate the looks of your favourite characters from the 1975 cult classic film. Transform yourself into a sex-swapping mad scientist, heroic newlywed, alien from Transylvania or even the time-warped Riff Raff, with an orgy of colour worthy of any midnight mayhem at The Frankenstein Place...

So, being the sucker for packaging and a M.A.C addict, I had to get my hands on these little babies. Let me show you what I have gotten!

The first thing I wanted to get was the Set Powder that sets your foundation and base creams with invisible, giving you a light sheer and velvety finish. These powder grains are very fine, it is almost non-existence when applied.

For the eyes, I got the M.A.C Riff-Raff Eyeshadow Palette contains six eyeshadows, with a mix of old and new colours with a cool toned set of shades that could let you go from natural to dramatic stand out with these colours.

Oh, Rocky! is a “soft muted white with pearl [with a Frost finish], light, white-beige with subtle neutral-to-warm undertones and a satiny sheen. Crystal a “violet duochrome with pearl [with a Frost finish], is a light-medium lavender with cool undertones and a pink-ish iridescent, frosted sheen. These 2 shades will be great for inner corner of the eyes as well as under the brow .
Blackberry a “muted burgundy plum brown [with a Matte finish] is a muted, neutral-to-warm-toned plummy brown with a matte finish, that could come off a little dirty looking, but it is a great shade to have for contouring the eye.
For the shimmery shades, Graphic Style and Heavy, Black and Pendulous would be nice to have. The deep silver [with a Veluxe Pearl finish] Graphic Style would brighten the eyes whilst the grayish blue with pearl [with a Frost finish] Heavy, Black and Pendulous would be a nice shade to have against Blackberry for a contrast payoff.
And then comes the must-have black eyeshadow - Carbon. But it seems to be popping up in quite abit of the M.A.C palettes, it would be nice to see something with a change, like a shimmer or different colour undertone?

To add on to the dramatic set show look, contouring is a must! The Powder Blush in Crazed Imagination is something to opt for if you are not looking for a transvestite scientist like Dr. Frank-N-Furter. This muted, medium-dark plummy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly shimmer-sheen finish is a natural shade to have whether for blusher or for contouring.

And nothing speaks louder than glitter pots, with you shining and glittering, you will definitely be the centre stage attraction! These 2 shades are to “Keep entirely clear of eye area. If product enters eye, rinse with water. If irritation occurs, consult your ophthalmologist.”, but with some creativity, you can have them as glittering eyebrows, lips or even cheeks and nails! But I've tried them over the eyeshadows and I must show they are stunning!

MAC 3D Black Glitter  is a black base powder with silver holographic effect and it is really something you must have! The MAC Gold Glitter has gold glitter pieces of different sizes that bounces off light to give your skin a Midas touch of elegance.

So, it's all a Strange Journey when you step into the Rocky Horror world, so come on over and try this moist red and orange tint lipstick. Coat your lips with it and I bet you will be drawing in the strange as well! See how fair I look against this lip colour! It is pretty close shade to Lady Danger, so if you missed this one, you can still find it with Lady Danger. :)

Loving the lighting over at the M.A.C counter! Must get this at my house too!

The M.A.C x Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection is now available at the M.A.C counter at ION Orchard Sephora, so be sure to go down early as these limited edition lovelies will run out very soon!
